DJ Kable – Earth Dance 2012 DJ Set (Free Download)

DJ Kable @ Space Coast Earth Dance 2012The latest set by DJ Kable is up for grabs, and it’s a dirty mud-stomper spanning electro-house, breaks, and dubstep.  In fact, Kable proclaims via Facebook page: “When I arrived at Earth Dance just before sunset, it was evident that it had just rained. I generally brought two set types of tracks with me, one being much dirtier than the other. When I stepped into the mud on the way to the stage, a decision was instantly made for me…and making dirt bombs fly out of the speakers was the inevitable task-at-hand…”

DJ Kable – Space Coast Love Fest 2012 (Free Download)

Space Coast Love Festival 2012Now here you have a great example of DJ Kable sweeping through multiple genres and seemingly having a damn good time doing it.  This set starts with Kable’s very own original breakbeat monster: “Bass Directive”, but laden with what seems to be a prank voicemail from one “Chernobyl Cigarette Company”. This wouldn’t be the first time strange samples have made the leap from Kable’s voicemail into a DJ set.

Enter the likes of Access Denied, Cazzette, Felguk, Dirtyloud, Hirshee and more into the mix, and LoveFest quickly turns into BangFest 2012!  Even with all that dirt slinging, Kable manages to throw in hints of “love” in the form lyrics with tracks like Glamrock Brothers’ “Long Train Runnin”.

Soul to Soul “Back to Life” Remix (Michael Mcnabb Bootleg)

Here’s one that is just going to blow your mind, and possibly just slipped under your radar until now.  It’s maybe no secret that Michael Mcnabb has a strong upbringing on the roots of breakbeats, but this reinterpretation of a classic is just amazing to say the least.  It’s no wonder it was featured on the BBC Radio 1 “Kissy Sell Out” show.  Mcnabb even got a shout-out from his long-time source of inspiration and coveted master of breaks: DJ Icey, who took a moment to drop in a Soundcloud comment: “Nice One! Great Remix!”.  We definitely agree, Icey, this is a great remix indeed.  Though it’s not necessarily new, this is something that should find its way into your next DJ set if it hasn’t already.  Watch what it does to the crowd…you won’t believe it.  >> FREE DOWNLOAD (.mp3)

Sweet Science Records – Releases in Digital Stores Now

It’s been a hot minute since the last update, but the folks at Four4ths have been hard at work occupying the airwaves with several new weapons of dance floor destruction, with every style of DJ in mind.  Check out the recent release break down below, and remember you can find all of these tracks at any of your favorite online digital music retailers (Beatport, Juno, iTunes, etc):

Avlish - City of Echoes, DJ Kable, Michael Mcnabb, Remixes

Avlish – City of Echoes
(Michael Mcnabb and DJ Kable Remixes)
Sweet Science Records

The most recent of installments, are Michael Mcnabb and DJ Kable’s remixes of Avlish “City of Echoes” trance track.  Kable preserves Avlish’s original melodies and sticks within the original trance genre, but adds some tense building before finally dropping into signature driving electro bass lines and fills.  Michael Mcnabb turns 180º and pumps out a subby breakbeat remix that takes new direction in classic electro landscapes.  Check the writeup on NoisePORN for insight into the whole release, including the Original Mix and a dubstep cut from Loncka.

Track 1 “Back in the Klub!” is a collaboration from Bass Wrecka and DJ Kable which busts down the breakbeat gates and takes you through old vs. nu skool locked in a deadly battle for supremacy.  We hope you brought your breakin’ shoes, because a circle is about to expand on the dance floor.

Track 2 “High Volume” is a (caution: overused adjective ahead) massive breakbeat floor shaker.  The kicks go BOOM, and we mean serious sub-atomic bass here, folks.  This should definitely “be played at High Volume”.

Finally, Track 3 “Str8jacket” is a chirpy wobbly noise box featuring sections of triplet notes making for a bouncy electro-house thrill ride to close out the EP.

Taking the scenic route into the progressive house realm, Mcnabb shines again with an EP that shows his diversity and taste for the finer reaches of house music.  The title track “Reach” is an airy, space-driven tune that takes you a deep and contemplative journey.  While “Chasing Sunset” has a heavenly feel reminiscent of early Moby and hints of early Orbital with its far-reaching delay effects and side-chained pads.  When it’s all put together, you can almost hear the ocean and gently crashing waves.

Michael Mcnabb takes what was once an epic trancer, throws it in a cage, and abuses the hell out of it…And well, you can only imagine what kind of monster appears once unleashed:  This electro-house transformation has an angry mind of its own…tribal house beats, deep subs, and high pitched saw waves wreckin’ shop!

Deadmau5 “SOFI Needs a Ladder” Remix by DJ Kable (Free Download)

This electro-house and breaks remix of Deadmau5′s “SOFI Needs a Ladder” has a real kick to it.  It’s also got that clappy slappy-sounding snare and a dirty electro bass line to boot (you can see where this is going already).  If that wasn’t enough, included are the scratch-tastic turntable skills of Kable’s long-time friend, Michael Mcnabb, rounding out a killer remix.  >> FREE DOWNLOAD (.mp3)

Release Day! Michael Mcnabb “Dirty Nights” EP in Stores Now

Michael Mcnabb - Dirty Nights EPFour4ths veteran Michael Mcnabb opens the electronic music floodgates with a brilliant 5-song EP proving once again that he’s pulling from a bottomless bag of dance-able magic.

The aptly titled “Dirty Nights” EP begins with a dark and sinister track entitled “Ambiance”, which features a grimy distorted bass groove with side-chained pads that combined throw you right into the deep dark alleys of EDM that only the brave and faithful shall pass through.

Wasting no time, #2 is the title track “Dirty Nights”….foreboding builds and menacing bass will circuit-break the need for lights yet again, as Mcnabb takes you on a journey through the dark cooridors of the mind…close your eyes and let go on this one.  When you’re ready for the funky thirds-based distorted bass grooves rocking all over a straight-up kick/snare (can’t go wrong with that formula, right?), track #3 “Night Breed” is where less becomes SO much more.  Mcnabb truly understands the value of selecting sounds wisely and concentrating on the tracks overall groove.  With a pad interlude reminiscent of Moby’s “Go”, you can’t resist wanting to find a spot for this track in your set.

Mcnabb keeps  the pulse rapid with a solid electro-houser entitled “The Future”.  But yet, he can’t just stop there:  Track #5 “Three AM” is a HUGE progressive-infused electro-house masterpiece just itching for big room discovery.  It’s almost difficult to define it in one word other than “big”, because the mix on this one completely fills the room, proving Mcnabb’s well-versed ears are giving him a quality edge in spatial positioning of individual sounds in the overall mix.  But arguably ever more important than production skills, this is that track that the listener/dancer/partier gets completely immersed in, losing all sense of time.

Wait, there’s more?  Yes.  As if (5) solid tracks weren’t more than enough to satisfy your fresh tune fix on this EP, M-Toxin’s alpha dog Seth Vogt adds a huge breaks remix interpretation of the title track “Dirty Nights”.  Vogt once again demonstrates that he has roots firmly planted in the legendary Orlando electronic music scene, and specifically has an ear for many of the sounds and song structures pioneered there in the early 90s.  However, this interpretation sounds FAR from dated — We’ve grown to expect a fresh clean sound from Seth every time he works his magic, and he doesn’t disappoint.  The key in this remix is the storytelling aspect — A lot of EDM listeners want to be taken on a journey….and Seth expertly pilots this spacecraft into a wormhole born of the breakbeat heavens.  Translated: this should not be missing from your essential breaks collection.
