12.22.12 :: “Leaders of the True School” Stanton Warriors, DJ Icey & more @ Firestone, Orlando

Leaders Of The True School

Future Sound of Breaks (FSOB), Vizion 1, DogEatDog Records, Alliance and Firestone Live
all join to form a giant robot—no, wait…to form “Leaders of the True School”
on Saturday, December 22, 2012 to be held at none other than Firestone Live in Orlando, Florida. And this one pulls from a couple of essential breakbeat corners of the globe like the UK and Spain, as well as a healthy dose of the local powers-at-be.

This will be one broken-beat night of celebratory bass!  Provided, of course, that they really did find the rest of that Mayan calendar back in May, and are reading it correctly.  Even the ancient Mayans couldn’t predict that STANTON WARRIORS and DJ ICEY would be sharing the stage on this very day, for the first time ever!  Check out the lineup below and be sure to check in and stay up to date by visiting the >> Facebook Event Page.

Electric Daisy Carnival – Orlando 2012

Mirror Man in the Crowd

EDC Orlando 2012 was nothing short of amazing.  Kable had the privilege of working with the Mirror Man for both days, and recorded 6GB of HD video witnessing his interactions with the attendees of this beloved Central FL music festival.  Mirror Man is a crowd favorite, shining multi-directional imagination and love to anyone he comes in view of, and is a crucial part of the entire EDC experience and atmosphere (the above screen shot taken from the raw video footage underscores this).  Check back here in the next few days and you might see yourself on the edited video that Kable posts.  ((=_+))

Dublime’s rendition features cinematic sci-fi organ lines and creepers, and then hastily drops you into an ominous dubstep bass monster that would make the grittiest of transformers flinch and seek cover.

Space Coast Earth Dance 2012

Earth Dance is an annual “Global Festival for Peace” which is held at many locations around the world that all align at one given moment for a worldwide moment of prayer for peace.  Moon Mushroom has aligned with the same people that brought you the Space Coast Love Festival back in July, and even secured the same venue (Loughman Lake Lodge) to hold the Space Coast rendition of Earth Dance 2012.  The event is being on September 22-23 (Sat.Sun), but just like the Love Fest, there is a VIP Pre-party option to join the fun early on Friday.  3 Stages, free body painting, fire poi, hooping, live art, and more than a bucket-load of local DJs spinning their latest crowd-pleasers.  >> Facebook Event page

Space Coast Love Festival 2012

Moon Mushroom and SCEG (Space Coast Entertainment Group) have put together a fine outdoor electronic dance music festival, featuring:  3 stages, 77 DJs, equating to 40+ hours of continuous music.  The first Space Coast LOVE Festival is to be held at the Loughman Lake Lodge – 1955 Hatbill Road, Mims, Florida.  The official event is on July 14 & 15, however, one can purchase early admission and join the VIP Pre-party Friday at 6pm (which allows one to also arrive early to choose a camp site – first come, first squatter’s rights).  Check out the Facebook Event page for more info.

Soul to Soul “Back to Life” Remix (Michael Mcnabb Bootleg)

Here’s one that is just going to blow your mind, and possibly just slipped under your radar until now.  It’s maybe no secret that Michael Mcnabb has a strong upbringing on the roots of breakbeats, but this reinterpretation of a classic is just amazing to say the least.  It’s no wonder it was featured on the BBC Radio 1 “Kissy Sell Out” show.  Mcnabb even got a shout-out from his long-time source of inspiration and coveted master of breaks: DJ Icey, who took a moment to drop in a Soundcloud comment: “Nice One! Great Remix!”.  We definitely agree, Icey, this is a great remix indeed.  Though it’s not necessarily new, this is something that should find its way into your next DJ set if it hasn’t already.  Watch what it does to the crowd…you won’t believe it.  >> FREE DOWNLOAD (.mp3)
